Tortured is a PVE-RAIDING guild. We expect our entire membership’s primary focus to be on helping us with our endgame progression. We raid four nights per week and expect our members to raid with us. It is not required that you attend every raid, but be aware that if you are playing during raid times we will expect you to accept our raid invite unless you know you will have to leave early . Raid invites will go to those that have higher attendance first. The best way to ensure that you are included in your classes mix for the raid is to attend when possible. Getting keys, gathering materials, running raids, and helping others get keys always comes before BG's or town-raiding. If PVP is your primary focus please understand that this guild will not be a good fit for you and try to find a PVP-first guild. Most of us are passionate about trying to complete endgame content and we need to feel like we are all pulling on the same rope, so to speak. As such it is imperative that people do not become saved to raids that are not organized by the guild, ie PUGs, as this limits our options for doing things as a guild. This restriction only applies to content we are currently running or will be running in the future, outdated content that we have moved passed is not considered raid content and can be run on off-nights or in PUGs. We are a mature guild and expect our members to conduct themselves with dignity and respect at all times. Make sure you read and understand our Looting Guidelines as well. General Conduct Tortured does not tolerate: Harassment of members or other players outside of the guild: When you wear the Tortured banner you are representing all of us. It is very important that you be an ambassador of class and respect in all your WOW interactions. Follow our rules of conduct at all times, not just when dealing with guild mates. If you are found to be tarnishing the Tortured name you will be removed from the guild. We do not tolerate prima donnas or those with elitist attitudes. You may truly believe you are God, but if so keep that to yourself. Belittling the play of other players will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with another player’s performance do not point fingers, send tells to the raid leader or a guild officer. The information you give them will allow them to take appropriate steps to insure the success of the raid. Public criticism really needs to come from the raid leader or the sniping and finger pointing can quickly make everyone in the raid uncomfortable. All members of Tortured are expected to play the game with integrity. This means no cheating or using of any third party services that might jeapardize the integrity of the guild. This includes using levelling services, robot programs that control your toon when you are afk, buying gold out of game or possibly hacking your wow files to get an in-game advantage. These actions are expressly forbidden by WOW and can lead to your account being cancelled. Using terrain exploits in PVP is forbidden as well, as this reflects badly on your character and our guild as a whole in the PVP community. Sometimes there are glitches in PVE that allow players an unintended advantage. Tortured strongly discourages using these glitches as it's important the fights are learned and can be beatean "as intended" as these glitches are usually fixed in patches anyways. Guild raids will always focus our efforts on strategies that are deemed to be within the realm of "working as intended". If you are have decided to leave the guild and you are planning on or have put in an app to another guild, please speak with an officer prior or you may be removed from the guild without prior discussion. Freaking out about a party or raid wipe: If you die or there is a total wipe handle it with grace! Getting upset and pointing fingers is not productive and can make a raid very uncomfortable for everyone. Remember we all make mistakes and we all have different learning curves. Berating others for poor play will not be tolerated. If you have advice for another player make sure it is intended to be constructive and is delivered with tact. If you caused the wipe owning up to it and apologizing usually makes everyone feel better. Ninja Looting or misleading "need" for loot: For example: taking loot for alts when other party members present in the run need it. Please don't roll need if you intend to try to sell that item to someone. Need means you intend to bind it to the toon you are currently playing. No exceptions! Ninja looting of any kind is not tolerated. Freaking out about loot: If you lose a roll and it upsets you, keep it to yourself. Your time will come. Relax. This game is about camaraderie and teamwork. Your loss is a friend’s gain. (BTW- If something is a minor upgrade for you but a major upgrade for a party member consider giving it to them. It's for the betterment of the guild after all. You don't have to do it, but it sure makes a lot of sense to me...) Selling services in guild chat to other members: We understand that there is a value to some services, please negotiate for these items/services in tells rather than in guild chat. We ask that all craft/services be sold to guild mates for price of mats. If the guild member needing the craft/service has the mats we ask that it be done for 0 cost to the guild member. Remember, someday you will need something as well. Begging for gold or items: Money problems are a part of the game. Deal with it by killing stuff not by guilting your guild! Begging for high level players to baby-sit you through a low level instance: Asking if anyone would like to run an instance with you is fine, but begging/ demanding 60's to take your low level alt through an instance is not. Abandoning a party, AFK and DC's without explanation: If you need to go AFK or leave a party due to real life issues, or because the party just isn't working out for you, always tell the party or at bare minimum the party leader your reason for needing to leave. Ninja afk will result in immediate removal from the raid. Simply leaving a party without explanation is unacceptable (and will result in you not getting a raid invite in the future) unless you're in a life and death situation (just bailing on a raid is very selfish and very unfair to the other 39 people that were counting on you to be there). If you get disconnected (DC) please make every effort to log back and tell us what happened to you ASAP. Arguing policies and decisions made by the Guild Officers: We encourage open communication and value the opinions of all of our members, however sometimes hard decisions must be made by the Guild Officers for the good of the majority of the guild. If your behavior is found to be in violation the Code of Conduct you will be given a warning by a Guild Officer. If you refuse to alter your behavior you may be removed from the guild. Professionalism Our desire is that Tortured will be an elite raiding guild with a high level of efficiency and professionalism. This will require a certain amount of preparation and discipline from all our members. Plan ahead before coming to a raid and get there at least 10 minutes early, ready to go. Make sure all your gear is repaired and that you will have everything you need for the raid in question. If you need ankhs, candles or pots buy them ahead of time. Bring your resist gear. If you know we will be focusing on MC, set your hearth to Kargath or leave your toon near the MC entrance. DO NOT COME TO THE RAID FLAGGED! Being flagged screws up our heals and buffs and slows down the raid. If you are on the waiting list be able to get to the raid within 5 minutes UNFLAGGED. If you are in WSG when we need a replacement you probably won’t be invited. Player Performance We need players to play well. We all have different learning curves and will all struggle from time to time. We will all be guilty of causing wipes and doing boneheaded things many times. That being said we need players who are dedicated to improving their play and being able to contribute to the raid. Players who continually perform below expectations, don’t listen to instructions and are deemed to be holding back the raid may be subject to removal from the raid party. We sincerely don’t anticipate this being an issue for the vast majority of the guild members but be aware that just showing up isn’t enough. Everyone needs to do their part or at least give a good faith effort to do so. Guild & Party Chat Though we are pretty loose in our guild chat we ask that you please be sensitive to all in Guild/Party Chat since it is a general chat and is used by all players to successfully play the game and be part of our guild. Please refrain from the following: We do not tolerate derogatory remarks and words pertaining to ethnicity and sexual orientation. Be sensitive to those who may be multicultural in the guild and those who may live alternative lifestyles. Though some things may be said in jest, in a text based chat it may not come across with the same humorous tone you had intended. If a conversation ever begins to escalate you will be asked by one of the Guild Officers to please take it to a different channel and out of Guild/Party Chat. If you refuse to do so you could be asked to leave the guild. Any arguing in Guild/Party Chat will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with someone please whisper a Guild Officer. Remember, we share Guild/Party Chat - please be courteous to your fellow members. Ventrillo Chat General Ventrillo Chat IS an adult chat, please keep this in mind. Though we are looser in the General Ventrillo Chat we still do not tolerate attacks or derogatory remarks of any type. Try to be respectful of others eardrums and fix your volume as requested ASAP. We ask you use a key binding to activate your mic. If you are running an instance we kindly ask that you to use the separate party channel for you and your party members. If you are in party chat with an instance group please follow the same guidelines that you would for Guild Chat. When in 10+ man raids please refrain from arguing strategies with the Raid Leader. If you have concerns please type it in the chat or better yet whisper the Raid Leader. Try to avoid mindless banter when strategies are being outlined by the Raid Leader. Too many people talking at once leads to chaos and chaos leads to unnecessary wipes. Please post in this thread once you have read the Code of Conduct so we know you understand and are willing to abide by it. Edited by Ionis on 07/10/2009 00:20:55 Rejoice!
